Goldy Gopher, the mascot for the University of Minnesota football team the Golden Gophers, made news today for mocking Penn State player Jerome Hayes. Jerome had knelt down in prayer before the game when the mascot decided make fun of him. Take a look at the video below.
UPDATE: The U of M has apologized.

I'm not convinced the mascot was 'mocking' the Penn State player, all he did was kneel and appeared to join the Penn State guy in prayer. He didn't wave his arms in phony hallejujahs, or carry on like some crazed televangelist, the mascot bowed his knee for as long as the Penn State player did. I've seen mockery and ridicule, and this isn't it.
