New Internet Game Has UK Residents Spy On Eachother for Cash

A new online "game" called Internet Eyes is about to be launched in the UK. The game allows the "players" to connect to CCTV cameras in the UK to monitor for criminal activity. If a resident witnesses a crime, they can then report it for a reward of up to £1000.

The company website tries to emphasize that they value privacy.
Internet Eyes does not consider its service is creating a “snoopers paradise”, “snitching” “a game” or “gambling” and will ensure effective measures are in place to prevent this.

Creating "effective measures" to prevent invasions of privacy with this thing sounds trickier than it would be with the telescreens from 1984. Something's going a little fruity over in the UK.
